Our Place Pre-School

Our Place Pre-School has now been open for a year. OFSTED say it’s a “good” pre-school.

Mandy Diaz - Supervisor (Curriculum planning, SENCO, first aider)
Claire Price - Supervisor (Staff development and communication, language and literacy development)
Mel King - Deputy (Creative development, first aider)
Natalie Brogan - Deputy (Health and safety officer, irst aider)
Jo Shelley - Assistant (ICT development and fundraiser)
Alison Barker - Assistant (Mathematical development)

All our staff are either already qualified or working on the national requirements for their job level.
We work well as a team and provide an exciting and stimulating learning environment for the children.
We provide each week a detailed plan of what the children will be doing and we make observations on your child’s development with photos for their records of achievements. Your child’s records are available to be seen at your convenience.
We will always be there if you need to talk to us about your child.
We operate a key worker system. This means one member of staff will take a particular interest in your child and record their development throughout their stay with us. If you have any concerns you can either talk to your child’s key worker or a supervisor. All records are stored in a lockable cupboard upstairs and you are more than welcome to view them at any time. These are totally confidential.

Our Place’s Learning goals

Our Place Pre-School will encourage your child to become independent and able to play co-operatively with other children. We aim to provide a safe and happy environment for your child to begin their first experience of education. We also do our best to make parents/carers feel welcome at all times.
We also aim to achieve the Early Learning Goals set out by the Education Authority.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
Communication, Language and Literacy.
Mathematical Development.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
Physical Development.
Creative Development.

And also follows the governments Birth to three matters framework for the under three year olds in the setting.
We achieve this through play and using different equipment and strategies every day.
We encourage the children to become independent and to play in harmony with others.
Our aim is to provide a safe and happy environment for your child to begin their first experience of education.
